Herpa Miniaturmodelle GmbH

(Dietenhofen Germany)

Herpa was founded in Nuremberg by Wilhelm Hergenrother in 1949, originally to produce model railway accessories, although Herpa is now best known for a huge range of die cast model aircraft, Herpa Wings, kits and other models, particularly plastic road vehicles. Austrian model railway manufacturer Liliput failed in 1988 and was purchased by Herpa, with production continuing. Four years later, Liliput was purchased from Herpa by Bachmann, who were owned by Hong Kong firm Kader, who relocated production to the Far East. October 2007 Herpa took on the worldwide distribution of the Minitanks range from Austrian manufacturer, Roco.
