Model Engineering Products was set up mid 1940s by 'The Two Teds', Ted Wallis and Ted Peell to produce Scorpion steam models, initially a small oscillating boat engine then a steam plant similar to Mamod and a vertical engine, in the style of early Meccano. These were followed by live steam locomotives, 0-4-0 tank loco and 4-4-0 tender loco. A modest range of goods (freight) wagons followed, and a steam motor truck. Production continued through the 1950s but, during the 1960s, sales dwindled and production switched to other sheet metal and casting work.
