Oxil

(Great Britain)

Model railways manufactured in Japan by Seki were exported, using both the name Seki and local names for other markets including Stronlite and Oxil in Great Britain, Bryant in the Netherlands and Maraklin in Australia. Some models exported by Seki were of their local Japanese outline railways whereas others were specific to the country of the importer, particularly those imported by Stronlite and Bryant to Great Britain and the Netherlands respectively. Oxil was a British brand name, registered in 1937 by Allbright Electrical Co Ltd, and applied to model railway products manufactured by Seki and imported from Japan. The Oxil name was used on the boxes although has not (yet) been seen on the products themselves, which are marked Foreign. The Oxil business appears to have been fairly low key, compared to Stronlite.
