The US Meccano Company of America was purchased by A C Gilbert of Erector fame in 1930, and whilst Gilbert continued the Meccano name, the sets themselves differed from British Meccano sets. The Meccano Morecraft sets were produced by Gilbert 1935-36, before being sold to the Skipper Toy Company of Branford Connecticut, who changed the name to Modern Morecraft.
