The Matchbox Dinky Collection

Dinky and Matchbox were two of the most famous names within British die cast toys, the two coming together as part of Matchbox International Ltd during the 1980s, and introducing The Dinky Collection, a series of 1/43 scale die cast models, many of which were models of classic British motor cars from the 1950s/60s era.

Released with DY catalogue numbers, there were 35 vehicles, although, including variations and gift sets, the total approaches 80 models. The Dinky Collection eventually became part of a themed series issued by Matchbox Collectibles Inc, owned by Mattel.
