C & M was created (1980s?) by Dick Mayer of Rich-Art Trains, and Lyle Cain, in collaboration with Ward Kimball. Dick Mayer was the production side of the partnership, while Lyle Cain had the original idea and obtained permission for the reproduction of the Toonerville Trolley, with Ward Kimball producing original artwork.
The Toonerville Trolley was available in both 0 and standard gauges, the models being the same apart from the wheel gauge. Models are known with both tin printed and open windows. Perhaps open windows were later, to allow cooling of the motor?
C and M also produced an Aunt Eppie Hogg Trailer for the trolley, complete with cam and rod operated bouncing Aunt Eppie Hogg. They also produced stand up figures and buildings, and a small turntable to rotate the trolley for return journeys.
