Western Coil and Electrical Company from Racine, Wisconsin was founded in 1915 by William Turnor Lewis and his father. In 1920 they made the Western Coil Type A crystal radio. However, Western Coil are probably best known today for their cast aluminum model of the Burlington Zephyr (see also Consoli), although Western Coil also made other products of interest to the 0 gauge enthusiast, as illustrated below.
