Ferdinand Strauss (no connection to F J Strauss Co of New York) was a German who emigrated to the USA where he produced tin toys, and became known as 'The founder of the Mechanical Toy industry in America'. Two employees of Ferdinand Strauss, Louis Marx and Henry Katz, went on to create their own toy empires.
