Société Industrielle de Ferblanterie (SIF) was formed in 1899 as an umbrella organisation of smaller metalworking companies in Paris, and, in 1909, the similar toy making organisation Jouet de Paris (formed 1902) was taken over by SIF although the familiar Jouet de Paris (JP, JdP, JdeP, JEP) name continued to be used for toys.
The train set illustrated below bears the initials JP and SIF on the locomotive, which is clockwork powered, and runs on a circle of banked track. The set comprises loco, tender and one passenger coach, although the locomotive has lost one pair of driving wheels.
