S&B Productions was formed in April 1949 by R W Burmingham and Rex Stedman, founder of the Leeds Model Company. Burmingham stayed less than a year, and the business was run by Rex Stedman and his family, with a modest staff. Following the death of Stedman in December 1959, the business was continued by Mrs Stedman, although S&B Productions was subsequently acquired by George E Mellor, c1970.
