Ernie Mainka of Main Hobby Depot was an active supporter of the Australian Model Railway Association Incorporated, prior to and after formation in May 1951, and was first Association editor. His main business was the production of canvas goods but, being a keen railway modeller, he also produced wooden railways parts including wooden roofs for freight and passenger cars, including clerestory roofs, 1949-57.
