Little Engines was founded by Martin Short Lewis Jr pre WWII. Mr Lewis was born in Iowa, 1885, and by 1917, was assistant manager of a Ford agency in San Bernadino. He moved to Lomita CA mid 1930s, and formed Little Engines circa 1940. Mr Lewis passed away 30th May 1949. The company continued for another 30 years, run by his wife Irene, and was then sold to Moodie Braun.
