Köster Konstruktions-Kasten 0 Gauge

(Meinerzhagen Westphalia Germany)

Köster Konstruktions-Kasten was a construction set for 20v AC trains, not dissimilar to Dux Universal. Gustav Köster in Meinerzhagen (Westphalia), a manufacturer of office supplies, produced these sets between 1947 and 1949. Everything including the track had to be screwed together - each piece of track required 42 nuts and bolts, and 12 curves were required for a circle. The locomotive comprised 102 parts together with 274 nuts and bolts.

There were three sets. Set 80 contained parts for an unpowered locomotive and five goods wagons, Set 81 contained parts to construct track (twelve curved and four straight), Set 82 contained a 20v AC motor for the locomotive, together with a transformer/controller.
