David O King (David Kingman) began creating models in 1960, in S, 0 and Standard Gauge, naming his 0 gauge line Scaleplate, which he described as 'the operation of scale equipment on 3-rail tinplate track'. The majority of his models were scale proportions and made for 027 track. It wasn't until the 1980's that he began producing full scale length models, by which time he had a replacement chassis for Lionel (MPC) Geeps incorporating 'magna grip'.
