Kenton Hardware Co was formed in Kenton, Ohio, early 1890s, initially manufacturing domestic hardware such as door knobs, adding cast iron toys to their range in 1894. The company became one of the world's largest manufacturers of cast iron toys, production including circus wagons, fire engines, fences, stoves, cannons, cap guns, trains, automobiles and banks, continuing until 1952.
