JEP transformers and controllers initially produced high voltage, approximately 50v AC to track, mains voltage reduced by placing a light bulb in series. The second series was Bass Volt, the more conventional 20v AC track power and finally AP5, 20v DC track power. AP5 Aimant Permanent 5 Poles or Permanent Magnet 5 pole motors.
