One of the largest toy shops in the world, and certainly one of the most famous, Hamleys, in London's Regent Street extends to six floors and stocks a vast range of games, toys and models including model railways and toy trains. Hamleys was originally known as Noah's Ark, and began life in 1760, at Ludgate Hill, Holborn (that no-man's-land between London's City and West End), before relocating to Regent Street in 1881.
The catalogues are both Hamley's own catalogues together with Hamley's overprinted catalogues of other manufacturers, particularly Bassett-Lowke and Meccano Ltd, including Hornby Trains, Hornby Dublo and Dinky Toys.
