It is understood that, upon the demise of Whitanco around 1921, Garnetts of Liverpool bought the Whitanco tooling, and set up a new company Garnett, Whiteley and Co (G W & Co), patenting and marketing the track illustrated below.
Ernest Whiteley of Whiteley Tansley and Co joined Garnett to form Garnett Whiteley and Co. Ernest Whiteley made the tooling and applied for the patent. GW and Co were selling the toys made by the Whiteley Tansley factory for a short time but then went on to develop Lotus Radio in Liverpool making Radio Sets & Radio Components.
Thanks, as ever, to the members of the TCS Yahoo Group for the above fascinating information.
