Cleveland Model and Supply Company Inc

(Cleveland OH USA)

Cleveland Model and Supply Company traces roots to 1919 when 13 year old Edward T Pachasa (later Packard) began designing and building model aircraft at home, forming his business, with family members, 1926. Mr Packard sold the company in 1996, and passed away three years later.

The company introduced model railroad kits in May 1937, using a scale of 3/16th inch and CD (Cleveland Design) gauge of 7/8ths inch, later becoming S gauge. The kits were balsa with printed paper overlays although the company later (1938) added 4-6-0 and 0-6-0 locomotives with a die cast chassis and 6v motor. Post war, the Cleveland model railroad products were continued by S Pikes.
