Ken Lowry was a scale modeller, building his 0 scale layout, Balwyn Pacific Railway (BPR), during the 1940s, using modified proprietory and scratch built models. Originally built for himself and friends, his products were available through hobby shops, where they were known as BPR after the layout. The range was cast components such as bogies (trucks) to tinplate rolling stock in both kit and ready to run form.
