The German firm Bing is perhaps one of the most famous from the period prior to World War II. The company was set up in 1963, and survived until 1932, having been effectively driven out of business by the then political climate in Germany. The Bing brothers were Jewish.
During their years of trading, Bing commenced toy production in the 1880s, and are well known today for their clockwork and electric 0 gauge model railways, some bearing their own name and many more being built for British suppliers and manufacturers.
