Yunost Konstruktor

(USSR)

Yunost Konstruktor translates as Youth Construction, or Young Person, Adolescent. Based very much upon Meccano, with almost identical parts and hole spacing, a series of sets was produced, 1980s-90s, although the actual manufacturer is unknown, and could have been anywhere within the Soviet Union. Novo (of Tri-ang Big Big fame) was not a manufacturer either, but seems to have been a trading company, an overseer of production, allocating contracts around the Soviet Union, then arranging sales and exports of finished products.
