X-Acto was founded in 1917 by Polish immigrant Sundel Doniger, inintially producing medical products, and is now known for craft knives, pencil sharpeners and other cutting tools well known to modellers. The X-Acto Crescent Products Co Inc produced Trix construction sets under licence, while Trix produced X-Acto tools, presumably as part of a reciprocal arrangement.
