Plasticville 0 Gauge

(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA)

The Plasticville range of plastic buildings and accessories was introduced by Bachmann Industries in 1947, originally as Christmas tree accessories (plastic fence) but subsequently as accessories for 0 and S scale trains, the overall scale being a compromise to suit both Lionel 0 and American Flyer S gauge trains.

Production has continued without break since 1947, although the entire range has not always been available simultaneously. Bachmann Industries was taken over by Kader in 1984, at which point production was switched from USA to China.

Plasticville products have twice been licenced to third parties - Lionel and King Distributors.
