What do we know about Nashua Bridge Company? The telephone number area code on the box links to Marlow, NH, USA, but is not currently in use. The number is described as a fax number - would a company have displayed such a number before, say, 1980, when desktop fax machines became popular?
It has been pointed out that there is an O gauge C&O Allegheny (2-6-6-6) shown in the illustration on the box, and the combined engine and tender are about as long as the bridge (26 inches). Lionel's full scale Allegheny (circa 1999) was 32" long. It therefore follows that this engine must be K-Line's selectively-compressed Allegheny (circa 2003) in which case, the box illustration cannot be more than 5 or 6 years old.
Finally, note the similarity between the third bridge below, and the Junior Bridge Co. 101L Trestle Bridge. Coincidence?
My thanks to members of the TTML Yahoo Group for their thoughts and contributions, which are appreciated, as ever.
