Micro Trains was formed in Sweden by Carl-Erik Norstrand in 1946, and produced for two years only. Having a life long interest in US trains, Norstrand modelled US prototypes using a new scale and gauge described as Half 00, or H 00. The scale was 1:152 or 2mm/foot (half of the British 00 scale of 4mm/foot) running on 2 rail track with a gauge of 10mm, locos (tender drive) being powered by 12v DC motors. Close, but not quite the same as modern N gauge which is 1:160 scale (or 1:148 in Great Britain), using a 9mm gauge track.
A die cast NYC Hudson was produced, together with a (plastic?) Pullman car and box car. Were there other models? Models were issued as kits, which Carl-Erik Norstrand wanted to be simple to build, using only a small screwdriver and file together with paint and brush. The models were released as Casey Jones Micro Trains, reflecting the creator's US railroading interest.
