This, and the next three images, attempt to give an overall view of the display, looking at the back, front, right and left views, as viewed by the general public.
This is the front of the layout, looking along the boards which are fourteen feet long, by 2.5 feet wide. There are two circuits of K-Line track, the outer being 072 (36 inch radius), and the inner (with loop) being 054 (27 inch radius). The next circuit is large radius Hornby clockwork, with the final circuit being a mixture of Lionel and Marx 027 track (13.5 inch radius). The 027 track in view, with locos standing on it, is a 'parking road' which isn't actually connected to anything - it terminates in Chad Valley buffers at either end.
