One of the perils of a miniature railway layout is invasion by giant cats ....
This picture shows more of the newly raised track, complete with retaining walls, to which brick paper has been glued. The paper actually depicts rough blocks (granite?), and is sold for doll's houses, 1/16th scale. The height of the raised sections was decided by the height of the pre war Lionel viaduct. Quite why there is a spare viaduct on top of the Marx freight station is a mystery. Probably something to do with the invading cat.
