Much progress with the brick paper, which covers most of the bare wood. Several different finishes of paper have been used, but it does give a very grey effect, which will be relieved by a few colourful posters, copied and printed from the Internet.
Note the 'water', which my ever loving wife describes as anaemic! Yes, I agree, and will repaint it a darker blue. The access hole in the middle of the layout will eventually be covered by a removable (or possibly hinged) scenic area, as operations will be from the outside, but access to the centre will be required in the event of derailments, and for track cleaning.
