The lowered part of the layout will be a river or canal one day, hence the bridges carrying the tracks across. The bridges are supported by scraps of wood at present, just to see how they fit, and look.
Plans are afoot. The layout looks too flat, even with the embryo river, or canal. The next cunning plan is to raise the outer loop by an inch or two, and perhaps to revert to the original plan, which included a second level.
