Track laying on the lower level has been restarted, using mainly new K-Line 027 track, which has the advantages of being clean, shiny and entirely free of kinks. The one disadvantage is that, whilst K-Line manufacture quite a range of track, including large radii, they do not supply 034, to match the earlier Marx track. Marx switches have been retained, but all straight and curved track on the main lines, except 034, is now new K-Line.
This picture shows dropper wires soldered to the underside of the track, ready for connection to bus wires which will be below the baseboards. Colour coded cabling is being used, one colour for each of the five main loops, with a sixth colour for the yard area. All return cables will be black.
