One of the Alco units seems to have lost a rear truck, which sits to the top left of the track. The transformer appears to be the K Series KS-5, which delivers a controlled supply only, via a reversing switch. What is the difference, if any, between the red and grey cased KS-5 transformers? The space in the tray, between the upper and lower levels of freight cars, is probably for the uncoupling device, which clipped to any straight length of track.
