K's grew out of a tobacconist shop run by Pop Keyser, during the 1940s, initially producing wagon kits and by 1957 the first locomotive kit was produced, the kit being complete other than glue and paint. The business was initially in London, relocating to Banbury during the 1970s, finally ceasing trading circa 1990, although K's tooling continued in use in other hands.
