The Hornby Percy tank loco was produced from 1965, the only 0 gauge loco to be produced in plastic, and the only loco introduced after the demise of Meccano Limited. Initial models were named Percy, and featured the Percy face, subsequent models were described as Play Train, and lacked the name and face. Initial Play Train locos continued as Percy with chrome or silver boiler fittings and cab spectacle plates, later locos receiving plain red boiler fittings and spectacle plates. Locos were available only as part of a Train Set, with plastic track and two trucks, and were clockwork powered.
