Hornby Series Locomotives

Hornby Princess Elizabeth Locomotive

The Hornby Princess Elizabeth Tender Loco was produced from 1937 until 1940, powered only by a 20 volt electric motor. The Princess Elizabeth was the only loco to be supplied with a wooden box, all other boxes being card. This loco was also the only Hornby 0 gauge model with a six coupled mechanism. Initial models were lettered LMS and numbered 6201 using a serif font, with a sand coloured cab interior. Subsequent models used sans serif letters and numbers, whilst continuing with the sand coloured cab interior. The final models again used sans serif letters and numbers, with maroon cab interior.
