The No 2 Series of passenger coaches was intoduced in 1935 (non corridor) and 1937 (corridor), production continuing until 1939/40, then briefly after WWII, 1948/49. Four coaches were produced for each of the four railway companies, GWR, LMS, LNER and SR, a corridor and non corridor compartment coach together with corridor and non corridor brake coach. Post war coaches have a noticably lighter grey roof, together with transfers (decals) on the bottom of the accumulator boxes and plain black wheels (pre war wheels were lined white). Corridor coaches were supplied with a flexible corridor connector (see below).
