The two Mitropa Pullman cars were introduced in 1931, five years after the Blue Train coaches, although the Blue Train and Mitropa coaches share the same body. Due to the relatively late release of the Mitropa coaches, they did not use the earlier bogies, being produced only with the later compensating bogies and automatic couplings. Early versions were all red, with later production sporting black ends to coach body.
