Hornby Dublo track may be thought of as two systems, 3 rail with tin base and the later 2 rail with plastic. However, tin based track may be sub divided into tin based clockwork track, pre war only, and tin based electric track, pre and post war. Pre war, the Hornby name appeared on the top face of track. Post war, the name moved to the side. Plastic based track may be sub divided into the initial live frog points design, and the later simplified Simplec points system.
