The Austrian manufacturer Ditmar produced 0 gauge trains immediately after the Second World War, from 1948 until 1954. The range comprised two steam locomotives, 0-4-0 and 2-6-0, together with a rail car, all available as both clockwork and 18v AC electric. Rolling stock comprised four and eight wheeled passenger and freight cars. Also produced were track and a transformer/controller together with buffer stops, level crossing, lamps and signals. Earlier couplings were a form of drop link, the links being fairly long and apt to contact the centre rail. The drop links were subsequently replaced by automatic couplings.
